Apache Tears are a name given to nodules of black obsidian found in areas of Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. These are a type of natural volcanic glass. These are usually roundish in shape and dark brown to black. Some may be slightly translucent, as seen in the posted picture (not all are).
The Apache Indians inhabited the areas in which these are found. Legend says that a group of Apache Indians was being pursued by the cavalry and significantly outnumbered. It is said that rather than being captured and murdered they rode their horses off the edge of a cliff. The widows of these warriors came to the site. They cried what were described as dark tears, which when they hit the earth below turned to stone.
Apache Tears are a stone of grounding. A strong force against and able to absorb negative energies. Apache Tears carry similar properties to those of black obsidian. Because of the legend that surrounds them, Apache Tears have become a staple for those dealing with grief and emotional distress.
You will receive 1 stone, similar to those pictured in an organza with a white sage leaf to clear the energies. These will be sent to you with loving intents and an informational card.
